Through her documentary filmmaking, Claudie Simard is blazing new trails. Her years as a journalist have shaped her curiosity and empathy, which she now channels into the arts. Her first auteur documentary, Resilience in Midwifery, was a finalist for the 2023 Prix Gémeaux. Committed to women’s rights, she explores assisted reproduction in the documentary series Births of the Future, which garnered significant public attention, notably on the national TV show Tout le monde en parle and in La Presse. In 2024, she directed her first international shoot for the documentary Take me Along, which aired on Ami-Télé and Radio-Canada. An experienced communicator, she enjoys debating the topics that inspire her and addressing them with nuance.
