Trapped in her life as a housewife, Nicole tries to liberate herself from demons that she does not want to pass on to her daughter Jeanne.
One inconspicuous morning the day-to-day of a quietly dysfunctional couple tips over as housewife Nicole rebels against the trap her life has become. In the attempt to break free of demons that she refuses to bestow upon her daughter Jeanne, Nicole makes a radical decision. Amazons is the story of a woman that seeks to survive despite herself and her conditions of life. It is also the story of her partner Thomas that loses his footing. And finally, Amazons is the story of an intense mother-daughter relation, …and of warrior-women that leave marks and scars.
Amazons is an adaptation of the novella “Fruit Loops” of the collection Quand les guêpes se taisentby Stéphanie Pelletier (Leméac Éditeur, Montréal).
