In a community, a performance hall is much more than a location for the dissemination of culture. It is a magical site, essential to the social fabric of its surrounding communities; it is an anchor, a gathering place, a source of pride for the inhabitants of the towns and villages where they are installed. Carl Langlais travels to meet the people who animate these places for the benefit of local culture and society at large.
